Life hacks for the slopes
Watch out, sun!
Not just in summer, but still in winter: UV protection. The risk of sunburn on the mountains is very high. So apply sunscreen regularly, even on cloudy days. Take care of your lips.
S.O.S with poor visibility
If the lenses of the ski goggles fog up, rubbing with a PH-neutral soap without water can help. A balaclava under the helmet also keeps the air away from the glasses.
Ski boot washing
Always dry ski boots well. You can neutralize unpleasant smells with a tea bag. This also works with baking soda, baking powder or cat litter in a cloth bag.
Never without a warm-up
Get out, jet off? Please don´t. Running on the stand and a couple of jumping jacks warm up the muscles and the risk of injury decreases.
Ski travel bag
Alternative to shouldering: Pull the loops of the poles over one end of the ski, stick the pole tips into the opposite loop – and the travel bag and handles are ready.
Gummy bears or chocolate can often work wonders in terms of motivation and relaxation. For everyone involved.
“Hoanigl” means the painful tingling sensation of the fingers in Tyrol. Ice cold hands counteract thin gloves worn under the mittens. Or arm circles.
